Arthritis diets have an ultimate aim of assisting your body in the management of this degenerative disease. Your doctor will advise you, early in the diagnosis period of arthritis, about which foods should be avoided and which should be increased in the diet.

You, as an arthritis sufferer, should be prepared to plan your meals regularly, but allow some sort of flexibility when dining out. Keeping in mind that swaying from the diet at times is ok, as long as it doesn happen too often. This way you will be able to enjoy a normal life without too many restrictions as far as your food intake is concerned.

Some foods that are known to assist with arthritis symptoms include:

1.Dairy foods for calcium - This includes yogurt and milk and not so much chocolate and ice cream. Yogurt is also good for general digestive health.

3.Starchy foods - It has been noted that some starchy foods like potatoes may assist with arthritis symptoms

This includes losing weight (if you are overweight). Even the loss of a few pounds can help relieve pressure on your joints and other bones. Prior to undertaking a major weight loss, be sure and consult with your doctor.

While you’e checking with your health professional, you should ask them about increasing your calcium intake with supplements. Your obvious benefit will be stronger bones and joints. Furthermore, because you will be feeling better, have more energy and strength; you will become more active.

As an arthritis sufferer and possibly overweight you can also get some relief and lose weight while doing light resistance weight training. Tests have shown that resistance weight training is good for the overall health of the body. Don’t worry! This doesn’t mean it has to be expensive or difficult.

You as an arthritis sufferer, must educate yourself as to what’s right for you. You know your body and your own mind. You know what you can do and not do. Therefore, you’re the one, which can make the life changing decisions, such as weight loss and a healthy diet, necessary to ease the daily pain in your joints and bones.

Some of the things you have learned in this article will help make your life a little more comfortable. By eating the right foods, not only will you reduce your pain and suffering, you stand a good chance of losing those extra pounds, if you need to. Arthritis diets need not be restrictive. They are simply designed to help people cope with a disease that can so often become much worse if an ideal diet is not undertaken

Discover The Truth About A 500 Calorie Diet

Filed Under (The Best Weight Loss Blog) by Winson Yeung on 15-07-2008

Are you a bit of a risk taker when you want to lose weight? If you are the 500 calorie diet may be just what youe looking for. The truth about this diet is it is considered an extreme form of dieting; but is highly popular. Low calorie diets are common and 500 calories is at the lower end of the scale.

A diet is considered low calorie if it involves ingesting no more than 1200 calories per day. The idea of a low calorie diet is to lose weight quickly. If not administered correctly they can be dangerous and as such it is important to plan your 500 calorie diet with a professional dietician or nutritionist before starting. This article will help you to decide if the 500 calorie diet is right for you.

It is well known that the way to lose weight is to burn more calories than you take in. However a very low calorie diet can actually do more harm than good. When your body is craving more calories (energy) it can affect your metabolic rate. This means your body actually starts to eat away at your muscle mass.

It is doing this for the purpose of converting the muscle mass to energy, since there are no food reserves to take from. Because gaining muscle is the path to losing fat, this can have a highly detrimental effect on your body.

500 calories per day may be sufficient for some people depending on their:
- Gender
- Activity level
- Height
- Body type
- Overall health and well being

For other people though, particularly overweight people, consuming only 500 calories a day is almost like starving yourself. Your body is more than likely used to taking in over 2000 calories per day and up to 5000 or more. If you all of a sudden drop to 500 calories or less your body moves into starvation mode. Your metabolism then slows down to conserve energy.

While you are on the 500 calorie diet your body will learn to live with fewer calories. That means if you go back to your old high calorie habits (as all too many people do) you will have a sudden gain in weight, which is more than what would have occurred, had you not gone on your low cal diet.

The only real way to determine your ideal daily calorie intake is by using a bmr/amr calculator. You will then know how many calories you need to be healthy and to support your lifestyle. If you take 500 calories away from this, then you have the ideal number of calories, to take in per day to help you get your weight down.

As men and women are obviously different their ideal calorie intake is also different. This of course means while the average woman may need only 1200 to 1300 calories a day to survive, her male counterpart may need from 1500 to 1600. Again this is why it is so important for you to consult with your physician before starting any diet.

In conclusion a 500 calorie diet can be dangerous. However, if proper precautions are taken, such as a physical, to determine your overall health fitness, you can lose weight quickly.

Part 2

Day 2

Today is the day to build upon the detoxification process that is well underway. You don’t want to stop it now, so it is impetrative to keep drinking water and lots of it. No coffee or tea are allowed during this entire process, nor is junk food (obvious but should be pointed out!). Did I hear a groan on that last one? Get over it! You want to feel good and look better don’t you?

Breakfast today should consist only of fresh fruit and water. A green salad is great for lunch and steamed fish and vegetables for dinner. After today you will start feeling amazing and your skin will start to look clearer after just two days on this ultra healthy diet. You’ll also lose the bloated feeling around the stomach.

Day 3

Water and fruit rule day three. You may feel very hungry today but that’s ok, your body is finally cleaning out all those toxins. Keep going and get through today without exerting much energy. Vegetables for dinner will ensure your body does not crave food overnight.

Your 3 Day Detox diet seems very sparse, but remember it is only for three days and the whole idea is to cleanse your body. By not eating foods which have chemicals or other unnatural substances in them, you’e giving your body a totally natural diet, the way it was intended to be. Now go take a look in the mirror, give yourself a high five, because you’e feeling better and you’e looking hot.

Discover How Easy A 3 Day Detox Diet will Make You Feel And Look Better

Filed Under (The Best Weight Loss Blog) by Winson Yeung on 12-07-2008

Have you been looking for the fastest, safest and easiest way to feel better and look better? This article will provide you the right way to go about it.

A 3 day detox diet is a fantastic way to quickly clean out your system without committing to a long term diet change. Diets that go for any longer than a few days are notoriously hard to stick to, but if you know in your mind, that you must only stick to it for three days then amazingly it becomes more of a pleasure than a chore.

Actually the overall plan is extremely simple and very easy to execute. There are several varieties of this diet and it’s up to you to choose the one that suits your tastes and lifestyle. However, you must stick to the exact diet though; otherwise your detoxification process will be ruined.

Day 1

This is the day to cleanse the system. Getting rid of all that build up is the toughest part, but you start by drinking water first thing in the morning. After that, water is all you drink besides some fresh fruit juice (and ONLY fresh, no added sugars!). Breakfast should be a light wholegrain cereal and fruit, lunch can be some veggies and fresh fish (grilled) and dinner a similar menu. Salad is allowed as are fruits but the order of the day is vegetables and water - these are fantastic elimination products.
You should be exercising on day 1 - a brisk walk for 30 minutes will do the trick.

Part 2 will be publish soon.

Proven Weight Loss Tips…Free

Filed Under (The Best Weight Loss Blog) by Winson Yeung on 11-07-2008

Part 2

It is important for you to set your goals so they are obtainable. They must be set high enough to be a challenge, but yet low enough so you don’t get discouraged quickly. If your doctor tells you to lose 50 pounds, you need to break those 50 lbs down into bite size chunks. (Pun intended)

An example of doing this would be to set a long term goal of losing the 50 pounds over a six month time frame. You can break this down into a smaller goal of only 8 lbs a month. Then you can take it down even further to two pounds a week. It appears now you have a workable goal.

For your 3rd step you need to set out a plan for exercise. If you have been living a sedate lifestyle, you would be much better off if you started off walking. This will help you to get your muscles, in your legs and arms, to working again.

Within two weeks you should be up to walking a half mile to a mile. As your wind and strength improve you may find your self able to move into a brisk walk. Your walking will be the most effective when you can sustain a heart rate of 120 beats a minute for a minimum of 30 minutes.

This article has given you proven weight loss tips free. However, those tips are going to cost you. They are going to cost you to take responsibility and action to lose the weight.
